This week, both the internet and the Drape Kings office were abuzz with excitement about the two unprecedented, SOLD OUT Jay Z concerts at Carnegie Hall. In need of some last minute pipe and drape, Drape Kings answered the call to provide almost four hundred feet of our White Velour, White Sheer, and Black Encore drapes for the Hip Hop King’s dressing room as well as that of his fellow performers Alicia Keys and Nas. Not only was this notable as Jay Z’s first concert at Carnegie Hall but for the rare appearance of a Hip Hop icon at that venue. The historic hall, better known for its affiliation with classical music, played host to the Monday, February 6th and Tuesday, February 7th shows, which benefited the United Way of New York City and the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.
The celebrity packed audience including musical legend Liza Minnelli, crooner Josh Groban, model Brooklyn Decker and, Mrs. Jay Z herself, Beyonce Knowles. The concerts also saw the first live performance of the song “Glory,” written for his and Ms. Knowles month old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
Drape Kings loves collaborating with others to transform any venue into the beautiful space of their dreams. Whether it’s a dramatic Kabuki to unveil a new product line, stylish and well disguised pipe and drape to transform your venue into a warm, romantic space, or White Supervel to create elegant trade show booths, Drape Kings accepts the challenge to shape any setting into the magical backdrop of your choosing!
