How to Measure for Pipe and Drape

Before pricing out any of our Pipe and Drape products and services, we must know the dimensions to what you are looking to drape. Measuring a space for Pipe and Drape is very easy!

Measure the Height

Measure the height, but only to the point where you want the drape to end. This could mean to the ceiling or this could be mean to a certain height, but you’re going to need this measurement, since our drape runs in varying heights.

Measure the linear width

This is where it could get tricky!

Measure the width of needed drapery, but take into account that this number must be extremely accurate, as we quote by the running linear foot.

If you are going to drape an entire 10 foot by 10 foot room, for example, you will technically be draping 40 linear feet of space (Four walls at 10 feet a wall). Keep this in mind when measuring your own space.

Calculate fullness

After calculating the linear width, you will need to figure out if you want it flat or if you want some texture to it. The photos below demonstrate what 0%, 50%, and 100% fullness look like. The more fullness, the more “bunched” the drape will be.

Note: Sheer is usually quoted with 200 percent fullness.
