Drape Kings, a NYC based Event Drapery Rental company, is opening a branch in the Chicago (Very Near W. or N.W. side) and is looking for a Warehouse / Operations Manager. Candidates should have previous experience in the Special Event, Audio Visual or Trade Show industries. Candidate must have a roll up the sleeves attitude and be willing to pinch hit and wear many hats.
Job Summary
- Will be in charge of all aspects of a 4k – 6k sq foot warehouse
- Hire, train, and manage both warehouse crew as well as drivers/crew chiefs and freelance help
- Facilitate initial warehouse setup, layout and design. Erect tear drop shelving and build out multiple proprietary shelving units
- Maintain and small fleet of 16′ Box Trucks and/or Sprinter Vans
- Maintain a small in-house commercial laundry
- Manage a complex work schedule built around a 24/7 365 attitude and work flow
- Work closely with other company warehouse management to manage a large company wide inventory
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in warehouse / operations management
- Must have knowledge in: inventory control, computer literacy, fork lift, general warehouse maintenance, job and staff scheduling
- Must have valid drivers’ license and be able to drive up to a 24 foot truck
- Ideally the candidate will have prior experience in the special event, trade show or audio visual industry
- Quick problem solving skills a must
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and extended hours when needed
- Must be willing to train in NYC and Washington DC (Paid) for 2-3 weeks prior to opening of Chicago warehouse
