Kabuki Drop Defined

The Kabuki Drop, also referred to as a Curtain Reveal, is a special effect technique used both Theatrically and for Special Events.  A drape or other light-weight fabric is released from above and dropped on cue to unmask a performer, space or product.

The process utilizes an electro-mechanical Kabuki release system suspended from pipes, truss or architectural hang points. The audience is surprised, and their attention is refocused on the reveal.

Electro Kabuki Drop is Amazingly Easy to Rig And Operate

EK2 is a smart, exceptionally easy-to-use Curtain Drop System, and the wide selection of parts can be configured to meet your exact event requirements.

The EK2 modules are extremely robust, quiet with low power requirements and create the action at the end of the line.

The firing and control boxes, either manual or DMX are the heart and brains of the entire Curtain Release System.

Along with these basic components, there are many useful parts that make the rigging simple and the whole construction instantly effective.

EASY TO ASSEMBLE

Simply attach the EK2 modules to truss or a horizontal, spacing them from one to four feet apart. Link them together with simple color-coded Electro Kabuki cabling and connect the firing box to one end of the circuit.

Check the status indicators on the EK2 modules, switch the firing box to “Armed,” and when you’ve got your cue, just press the firing button for your reveal!
